Family Ministry

"Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to them" (Matthew 19:14).

Our mission is to help children and their families know they are loved deeply and eternally by God and created by Him for a purpose!

On Sunday mornings, we offer nursery ministry for infants through age five, during our 10 a.m. Worship Gathering. The nursery is found in the ABC room off the narthex.

Children Kindergarten and older begin worship with their family, where they have opportunities to participate in singing, bell ringing, a children's message and our bucket ministry. The children are excused from worship before the message to attend Sunday school. Kindergarten - 4th grade children meet in room 25 where they learn Bible stories and do activities and crafts that encourage discussion to deepen their understanding. Middle school ministry for 5th-8th graders meets in room 26 where they listen to the sermon, take guided notes and have discussions. Both classes go up the south stairs off the narthex.

Family Ministry also has a program called Family and Fellowship for children kindergarten - 12th grade, which takes place immediately following service once a month. Together we make a meal and talk about our walk with God.

Other special events throughout the year include Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat, Santa's First Stop, a Birthday Party for Jesus, and The Easter Egg Hunt.

Greene Street offers the community a weekday Daycare and Preschool (6 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday - Friday).

At Greene Street United Methodist Church, the safety and well-being of our children are our top priority. We have implemented a rigorous Safe Sanctuary policy, aligned with the guidelines of the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church, to ensure a secure environment for all children. This policy is posted in each classroom and is available for review upon request.
